No need to install emulators or operating systems - WineBottler uses the great open-source tool Wine to run the binaries on your Mac. WineBottler packages Windows-based programs snugly into OS X app-bundles. This little gem is quickly becoming my favorite way to use Wine on Mac OS X. So, without any further ado, let’s get started and install Steam on your Mac!!! Install Wineskin Winery. Then I discovered that this method was actually easier and it keeps everything self contained within an.app file. This video shows you the installation and configuration steps of PlayOnMac version 4.2.12, which allows you to run Windows-compatible programs on macOS Mojav. Looking forward to any advice you might have. How to Install S & S Windows Applications on a MAC Computer Using Wineskin Hope this description is detailed enough to make sense of the situation. I'm really at the end of my rope here, really frustrated, and I just want something that'll work for me. VMWare couldn't install for some reason so that's a bust, and Wineskin feels like an empty shell at this point. I've been sitting for hours trying to get it to work now.

Do I simply need to update the OS? If so, how do I do that? Will anything be lost in the process (which is what my girlfriend fears, which I assume is why she hasn't updated any). So what am I missing? Do I need to get Wine proper for this to work (no such requirement has been mentioned anywhere else so I didn't know in that case). Looking around some more, I still can't find any version that's for High Sierra. Turns out what I find is only good for Catalina and upward, so my High Sierra is no good. Somebody else on reddit mentions using Unofficial Wineskin Winery instead, so I look for that. Okay, I shrug, and create a Wineskin folder in AppSupport, then an engine folder therein, and place the engine there.

Searching for "Wineskin" only turns up an empty folder somewhere else.

The readme tells me to place it in Library/Application Support/Wineskin/Engines, only there is no Wineskin folder in Application Support. Okay, so how am I supposed to find an engine now? Somebody on reddit mentions the developer's stopped supporting it and their page is down. I click on "Download Packages Manually" and then I'm taken to a blank white page reading only "pageok" in the upper left corner. I try that a few more times, still nothing.

Fair enough, so I click the little plus button to do that, as the guide directed me, and nothing happens. I've downloaded it and noticed I have no wrappers to installed and the guide tells me I have to do that myself. So I've read that Wineskin Winery is supposedly a great tool to get Windows games to run on Mac. Using High Sierra (10.13.6) or get it to work. TL DR: I can't seem to install wrappers to Wineskin. So if I seem to have missed some basic aspect here, please be patient with me.
